Before I get to the list, I have to share a funny moment from this morning.
Here I am, sitting in the living room, when from the kitchen I hear Aaron say, "It's Fergalicious!"
No other context, nothing was said before or after, just apparently something was "Fergalicious". So I laughed. And he turned red. And now I'm sharing the moment with everyone else. (Maybe it's more funny to me than everyone else, because I'm still chuckling about it a little bit.)
Anyway, a la Frema, here's my Giant To Do List before the baby gets here:
1. Start IRA for Aaron. He needs to start a retirement fund, and I feel like if we don't get money into it before the baby is here, we won't ever do it.
2. Finish baby registry. We have a few important things left to add, such as a car seat and stroller.
3. Decide on crib. There are a few re-sale shops around here that sell fairly new cribs at about a quarter of the price of a new one, if not less. Now we just have to decide if we're going to buy one now or when we move. Which brings me to...
4. Decide if we want to buy or rent. We want to move out of our current apartment. It's not a bad apartment, and we like it here, but things are starting to break and we kind of want our own, non-attached space. So we have to look for a house. There are a lot to rent in the area and even more to buy at a really reasonable price. We just have to decide because we have to be out of here by July 1 (6 weeks after the baby is born if she's born on time).
5. Crochet baby blanket. I have the pattern, and I bought the yarn. Now I have to get crocheting so I have a chance to get it done before she gets here (just about 3 months from now!!!).
6. Get car seat installed and checked. This needs to happen, of course, after we decide on and buy/receive the car seat.
7. Find child care. I will be returning to work 12 weeks after the baby is born, so we need to find someone to take care of her during the day. We're pretty sure we'll be using a day care center, but we have to research them some more, do some visits, and get on some waiting lists. Complicating things is the fact that we want to only use the day care 3 to 4 days a week (I'll telecommute the other 1 to 2 days). A lot of places give preference to full-time kids first, so that will make it harder to find a place to take her.
8. Decide on a name. The baby does not have a name yet. We have narrowed it down to two that we like and now we have to pick between the two. That's the hard part. We may have to wait until she's here and see which fits her best.
9. Write wills. We're going to be using the Suze Orman will and trust kit. But first we have to download it, and fill it out. Of chief concern: who will we ask to take care of her if something were to happen to Aaron and I. (Which I hate to think about, but I figure it's better to prepare.)
I'm sure there are more things that I'm forgetting, but I have to get ready for work now. And looking at that lists starts to make me panic a little bit. I can't believe she's going to get here so soon!

You're so organized and I'm sure you'll get everything accomplished before she arrives!
The good thing about this list is that lots of the To-Dos (shopping, naming, crocheting) are fun things to do while you wait for Baby Girl!
Most of your list could pretty much by MY list. Here's to getting things done!
And what is it with husbands and Fergie songs? My husband has been walking around the house lately singing the chorus to "Clumsy," also for not apparent reason. It's not quite so endearing now, though, because it's pretty constant.
Good list to have. We still need to put together wills, and we've had our oldest is almost 5 now!
As for the telecommuting thing - I telecommute two days a week. But I still had to send my kids to childcare, because there is really no way to get any work done those two days if the kids are there. So, best of luck, maybe you can do it better than me.
Hi! Don't remember exactly how we found your blog (it's through someones food blog), but so glad we did. Congrats on your new baby!!! And your Feb.7th post with your belly is so cute! Not to mention the beautiful snow covered scene! We don't get that in Southern California, so we have to drive far to get to it. When we see that, it's play time! But for you, it's probably a pain in the a**!
That's quite a list! My daughter is 3, we have another baby due in late May, and still no will... need to get on that soon.
